Understand more about the shocking reveal of the season’s first half finale in the following text. But be careful, there will be several spoilers regarding this new wave of episodes.

Who is the killer?

Joe moves to Europe after killing his ex-wife Love and leaving their son to a couple of Marienne’s friends. He is hiding under the new identity of Jonathan and working as a university professor of literature.

There, he makes friends with a rich professor, Malcolm, who invites him to a party where the group of characters that are part of the central plot are introduced: Kate, Blessing, Rhys, Nadia, Lady Phoebe, Adam Pratt, Simon, Roald , Sophie, Connie and Gemma.

Joe ends up drinking too much and wakes up the next day to find Malcolm dead on his kitchen table. Because he already has a knowledge of how to hide bodies, he manages to do this with Malcolm’s without anyone suspecting his sudden disappearance. That is, until Simon was also killed.

From there, an “attack on London’s rich” ensues, as the newspapers call the series of murders taking place within the group of friends. While everyone thinks that the serial killer is someone wanting to take revenge on the upper class of society, the protagonist understands that it is someone from within the group who is committing the crimes.

At the same time, Joe is also receiving messages from the serial killer, who is chasing him for knowing the whole truth about who he is and his dark past.

A while after being rejected by Marienne, who returns to Paris again with her daughter, he finds Kate holding a gun next to Gemma’s body. He understands her situation because it is similar to hers in some ways and begins to get attached to her.

Then, Joe tells Kate that the killer has been sending him messages and they both team up to hide Gemma’s body. However, in the midst of the confusion, Roald learns of his friend’s death and blames the protagonist for her. After all, the murders didn’t start happening until after his arrival.

The Killer’s Identity

Roald starts chasing Joe, but ends up being knocked out by him. However, before he can hide, he is attacked by Rhys. The protagonist wakes up in a basement next to Roald and, there, Rhys reveals himself to be the murderer. He tries to get Joe to kill Roald and take the fall for the murders.

Joe refuses and Rhys decides to set fire to the basement, leaving the two trapped in it. The pair manage to narrowly escape at the last minute, with Kate’s help.

At the end of the fifth episode, Rhys appears in the newspaper officially running for mayor of London. Joe decides that he will not let the killer go through with his plans and will do anything to stop his success.
