If you are a fan of yellowstone, a Paramount series, we have some bad news for you: the work may end after its 5th season, which was divided into two parts, with the last of them scheduled to premiere during the North American summer of 2023 (June – August) . According to deadlineTaylor Sheridan, one of the creators of the series, already would be talking to Paramount to end production after the premiere of the new episodes.

However, the abrupt cancellation of the series has a very specific reason: star Kevin Costner, who lives the character John Dutton, protagonist of yellowstone. Problems with the protagonist
The publication explains that Costner signed a contract to record the new episodes of yellowstone for 65 days, however, I would be willing to work for only 50 days. In another important round of recordings, the actor said he would be present for just one week, as he would be busy with another of his works, the western film horizon.

Speaking of new paths, the subject of deadline reveals that Paramount would already be after Matthew McConaughey to continue the saga, however, through a spin-off. That way, Yellowstone could continue and the show’s universe wouldn’t have to be abandoned.
Questioned about the whole situation, Paramount did not want to confirm anything and released the following statement: “We have nothing to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope it stays that way for a long time. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan , we’ve always worked on expanding the franchise and this amazing world he’s built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenon we’d love to work with.”
It is noteworthy that Yellowstone recently won a spin-off on Paramount +, the series 1923. Starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, the production had a good reception from critics and the public.
