Xiaomi is expected to increase its line of foldable phones soon with a new model in flip format. New information about the device was released in rumors that include statements from the Digital Chat Station profile, and images from the GSM China portal.

The presence of a new device was perceived from an internal code N7, which refers to a model that has no direct predecessor. This is a different case compared to the N2 and N3 prototypes, directly related to the Xiaomi 14 Pro/14, respectively.

The illustrations reveal that the Xiaomi Mix Flip – possible name, if the company follows the pattern adopted in its fold model – should follow the market trend by offering a large external screen. However, this panel appears to be slightly smaller compared to what’s seen on the Razr 40 Ultra, or what’s expected from the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

This is because the Chinese brand can highlight the camera set, which should have three rear lenses. Few details about the components have been released so far, but the telephoto is expected to offer up to 3x optical zoom, accompanied by wide and ultrawide sensors.

On the front, the selfie camera will be positioned in a hole in the top center of the flexible panel. It is expected to be capable of recording in 4K, which would also be a step forward compared to current Xiaomi products.

It was also said that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor should lead the performance set, as can happen with the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. The new platform will be unveiled by Qualcomm next October.

It is not the first time that Xiaomi has thought of venturing into the flip cell phone market, as a few years ago a model codenamed “argo” had a similar format. It would come with a Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, but it was never marketed by the company, for unknown reasons.

The new Xiaomi Mix Flip was also recognized by its serial number 2311BPN23C, which reveals information about its availability. Its release is scheduled for the end of this year (2311, or 11/23), but the end of the sequence with the letter C indicates sales only in the Chinese market.

In addition to the Flip model, the brand must update the Mix Fold line with a third generation. The company’s flagship series will also feature the hard-display Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro models, and a Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected in the slightly more distant future.
