Now expected for December 28, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is starting to be talked about more officially. The proof in pictures, with a first video demonstrating certain capabilities of the screen of the smartphone
top of the line.
The AMOLED panel of the Xiaomi 12 Pro will allow an adaptive refresh rate, which its manufacturer wanted to show us in the video.
Adaptive display frequency
The Xiaomi Mi 11 already had an adaptive refresh rate, but then only allowed to oscillate between 60 and 120 Hz. The screen of its successor, at least in its most expensive version, will allow a more granular switch thanks to its LTPO panel.
Like others before it, the Xiaomi 12 Pro will allow the screen to adapt its frequency between 10 and 120 Hz. Exactly like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra or the iPhone 13 Pro. In doing so, the screen consumes less power in daily use. We can therefore imagine that it will benefit from a better autonomy than its predecessor.
Note that this video (which technical limitations prevent us from sharing here; you can read it on the article cited as a source) also allows you to admire the Xiaomi 12 Pro from the front for the very first time.
However, if the phone detects video content on the screen, the refresh rate is set to 60 Hz instead of 10 Hz to ensure smooth video playback. It seems that everything is resolved easily and immediately, and users will certainly not notice that the refresh rate is constantly being adjusted.
Xiaomi 12 Pro is expected to load Xiaomi 13 on December 28 based on MIUI 12.
