X Fold: Vivo’s folding smartphone seen… in the metro!

VIVO X Fold

For a few months now, some manufacturers have been striving, with more or less talent, to persuade us of the benefits of folding smartphones. On the Samsung side, we offer two different formats, with the Z Fold 3 and the Z Flip 3 . The brand has also formalized the fact that the folding smartphone will now be its new hobbyhorse. But this folding screen madness does not only affect Samsung, far from it.

A folding smartphone also at Vivo

Indeed, other manufacturers like Xiaomi or Oppo have also rushed into the breach, and this should also be the case very soon with a certain Vivo. The Chinese brand should very soon formalize its very first folding smartphone, which would respond to the name X Fold. A smartphone which is not yet official, but which has already been seen in the subway in China.

A traveler was indeed caught using this new upcoming Vivo X Fold, the smartphone using the same concept as Samsung’s Z Fold, with a terminal that will unfold horizontally. At the rear, the Vivo X Fold could have a photo section made up of a total of four sensors, certainly with the precious Zeiss bucket.

Photos shared by GSMArena allow you to view a smartphone devoid of any visible crease on the screen. A feat made possible by a new technique used by Vivo at the hinge of the smartphone. At present, it is rumored that the UTG panel of this Vivo X Fold could display a QHD + resolution, with a frequency of 120 Hz. The smartphone would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, with under the hood a battery of 4600mAh.

It remains to be seen now when this new Fold X will be made official at Vivo, which will expand the catalog of folding smartphones in 2022, with prices which should (finally!) drop significantly.
