The actor’s speech quickly gained repercussions on social networks, with several fans interpreting the message as a “clear anti-vaccine opinion”.

With the negative reactions, many wondered if the situation could be an obstacle to the actor’s stay in the DCEU which has gone through several changes in recent months.

At a press conference, Gunn stressed that differing opinions from the actors do not lead to cast changes.

“The actors and filmmakers I work with are going to say things I agree with and things I don’t agree with. And it will happen. I don’t have a list of things someone should say because of what I think. And you know, I don’t I can change my plans all the time because an actor says something I don’t agree with.”

“Likewise, if someone is doing something morally reprehensible, it’s a different story,” he added. “We have to take all of that into account. It’s a balance. It is a modern world and a different place.”
