Wiko launches a rebranded Huawei mobile phone in China

Reading the title of the news, the question may arise: why are we writing about a phone from a brand that will soon be introduced in a market that does not affect us in the least, but there is a double twist in the story. Wiko, although it might sound like a far-eastern brand, is one of the very rare European mobile brands that we ran into several times at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Wiko WiM anno, for example, quite clearly borrowed features typical of the iPhone of that time, which otherwise suited it well, but in the recent period we have heard much less about the brand founded 11 years ago. Therefore, it is surprising that the French are now launching a rebranded Huawei phone with HarmonyOS in China, which may have happened due to some very favorable agreement from the European side.

If this is indeed the case, this phone will also be powered by the Snapdragon 695 with a 5G modem, a 4000mAh battery and 66W fast charging, and the poster promises 256GB of storage. From Huawei’s side, the advantage of the agreement may be that they can say: not only own-brand devices run HarmonyOS, but it is also possible that the collaboration marks a change in strategy, and instead of a personal presence, more emphasis will be placed on partnerships in the future.
