The pandemic gave entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to contact their potential users in a more direct way and it is a practice that has been established among people, who see better a contact via WhatsApp with your neighborhood store or department store than by calling or emailing.
For this reason the application of Goal has implemented several improvements in the last two years to its version WhatsApp Business and now they are testing a function que will allow people to search for establishments in a simpler way.
All this taking into account that according to a recent study of the app with Kantar, 6 out of 10 people in Mexico say they prefer messaging with a business over calling or emailing, and 65% of users in that country say messaging is their preferred way of communicating with a business.
That is why together with Colombia and other nations, were chosen to carry out a testing phase of a company search engine within WhatsApp.
How is this new WhatsApp feature
At this time, the way in which a customer contacts a store, business or company is because from one of the two sides the profile number was given and from there the conversation began, or because someone else passed it on or had to go to a search engine and find it there.
WhatsApp wants to avoid all those steps and the randomness of that finding. That is why he has been verifying a series of companies to establish his official contact and from there create the search engine.
In this way, a section was created in the application’s contact search engine called ‘Companies’, when entering there users will be able to write the name of the store or business with which they want to speak for an address, concern or request without having to save the number on the phone.
When you start typing the name or a keyword, the different options will appear and It will only be enough to choose the one you want and there the traditional chat will open to start the chat.
In this way, users will be able to go directly to your app, without leaving it, and find what they need, and for businesses it will be a much simpler distribution channel, since within the Meta environment it also has the application WhatsApp Business, from where they talk to their customers, and the API, designed for medium or large companies that handle a large flow of users.
Communities are already on WhatsApp
In addition to this function, which is in the testing phase, users can already enjoy in the Meta de las Comunidades app, a new way of seeing groups, in a more organized way, since they are intended to be a great tool for those who they need to manage large groups of users. Maintaining order between all possible conversations.
Communities are like forums in the WhatsApp app, allowing all participants to organize themselves based on different criteria. These new group forms have global admins who are responsible for keeping order at the community and group level.
And every time you create a community, the admin decides which groups will be added to it and also has the option to open new groups specifically for that community. Additionally, WhatsApp includes a broadcast tool for administrators to share important communications that all groups need to know about.
