What was Pedro Infante’s last interview and what did he say

Pedro Infante had just finished a tour of Latin America when his death surprised the public, so shortly before he died he had a interview in Peru with the reporter Luis Jaraba Sanzwho was in charge of questioning the singer about some rumors that existed around his behavior and his Personal life.

It was at the beginning of 1957 that Pedro Infante arrived in Peru to make some presentations, which is why he was staying at the Hotel Bolivar, one of the most luxurious in its time. There he received Luis Jaraba Sanz, who was on behalf of the newspaper The reporter to ask you some questions.

The journalist recorded that the man from Sinaloa was in the hotel room without a shirt and was only wearing pants, since he was exercising. While he was lifting a 150 kilo weight, he asked Jaraba Sanz to enter.

One of the first questions the reporter asked was what Pedro Infante expected to do during his visit to Lima, to which he replied that he only wanted look good with your audience, for your good and that of Mexico. He couldn’t attend parties, because his contract forbade it.

“Cinema changed my life. Now, I’m upset that I can’t get more out of my work. I want to direct, I am one of those who carefully observe the cameras, sets and machines in general. Anyway, I want to improve myself in my artistic work

He added that he no longer imagined himself becoming carpenterto which he was dedicated before coming to the cinema, because although he liked it, he had gathered the fortune enough to not have to worry about your finances for a long time.

From this arose the communicator’s doubt about the finances of the Idol of the People, so he asked him: “Thrifty?”. Pedro assured that he was, but he also liked to spend on some luxuries.

Through his text, the actor recalled his childhood and the first jobs he had because he stopped studying to be able to support himself financially at home. Pedro also recalled some incidents that he experienced during his first times on film sets, such as his first kiss on camera with Susana Cora.

He ended his message by saying goodbye to his audience, asking that they never see him as an artist who has succeeded, but as one more person and advised the youngest to make an effort at school to achieve their goals.
