Today is about Egyptian queens, cases of disappearances in the United States, the will to change a life, and fantastic cities where humans and mythological creatures coexist in an environment of war.

Two documentaries, one about ancient Egypt and one about the North Carolina police lead today’s recommendations. Added to them is the new Disney + comedy about a young woman who decides to resume the career she left behind in an attempt to turn her life around and the series starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne which, more than a month after its finale, is still in the top 10 Prime Video series.

Queen Cleopatra (Netflix)

Produced by Jada Pinkett-Smiththe second season of queens of africa focuses on the story of Cleopatra. The controversy surrounds its premiere since it was known that it would be Adele James, a black actress, the one who would give life to this historical figure. Labeled a “falsification of Egyptian history” by Egypt because, as the secretary of the Supreme Council of Antiquities has stated, “he had fair skin and Hellenic features”, the series has received criticism for being classified as a documentary. Today, we can finally see how they have approached the history of this great female figure.

Disappearances: dead or alive? (Netflix)

“I’ve been a police officer for 22 years… Nothing surprises me anymore,” an agent is heard saying in the first seconds of the trailer. For fans of True Crime and documentaries about police investigations, it comes to Netflix Disappearances: dead or alive?a documentary series that follows a team of South Carolina police officers specializing in disappearances under disturbing circumstances.

Not Dead Yet (Disney+)

The third premiere of the day is found on Disney +. Based on the book of Alexandra Potterthis comedy directed by Dean and Todd Holland follows the story of Nell Serrano (gina rodriguez), a woman who doesn’t like her life and who, after remaining single and noticing the passage of time, decides to resume the career she left 10 years ago. Lauren Ash, Hannah Simone and Phillip Charlie Daniell join Rodríguez to bring us this sitcom that reminds us that we are not dead yet.

Carnival Row (Prime Video)

In 2019, we were introduced to the neo-Victorian town of Burge, where magical creatures went to seek refuge from the war raging in their mythological homes. On March 17 of this year, the series starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne put an end to the love story and the fight for the freedom of its protagonists. If you were already a fan at the time and haven’t seen the second season yet, don’t wait any longer! If you have never seen the series, this may be a good option to start with since it is not one of those eternal productions that you will never be able to finish.
