Time travel is the star of today’s recommendations. Let’s go in chronological order. First, we travel back to the 1980s to witness the moment of creation of one of the most famous sneaker brands in the world: the Air Jordan. We then fast forward to 2003, when a shooting on July 4 changes the life of a college student.

Hence, a great leap into the future, to 2071, a time in which humans live confined to their homes due to air pollution. And, finally, a jump in time but also in space, to the Moon in 2257, to witness how some children decide to explore the satellite in search of a legendary crater.

The fans of Michael Jordan you can enjoy again air on Prime Video. The film directed by Ben Affleck tells the story of how the basketball player (a rookie at the time) joined Nike to revolutionize the world of sports and sneakers with the Air Jordan brand. Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Jason Bateman and Affleck himself get into the shoes of those visionaries who, in the 80s, forever changed sports, fashion and contemporary culture.

Burning City (Apple TV+)

Based on the homonymous novel by Garth Risk Hallberg published in 2015, burning city connects mysterious fires in New York City, its downtown music scene, and a wealthy family torn apart by so many kept secrets through a July 4, 2003 shooting in Central Park, in which a college student loses life. The novel, which has been praised for its homage to New York City, was selected as one of the best books of the year by The New York Times.

The Black Knight (Netflix)

Director Choi Ui-seok It takes us to the year 2071, a time in which only 1% of the population has managed to survive against air pollution without leaving home and with the use of gas masks. In a dystopian world like this, the delivery men, known as knights, are the heroes of the citizens because they not only limit themselves to delivering packages, but they are also vigilantes against thieves and criminals.

Crater (Disney+)

In his new movie, Disney+ also takes us to the future, to a much more distant one, in 2257, and relocates us to the Moon to tell us the story of a young man who, after growing up in a lunar mining colony, decides to fulfill the promise made to his father and go exploring a legendary crater before being relocated to another planet. A sci-fi drama from the producers of stranger things and directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez (for thirteen reasons).
