The weekend is coming, and with it our weekly list that brings what to watch on the main streaming services in the country. In it, we present the films and series released between 01/16/2023 and 01/22/2023.
Among the options, we have Junji Ito: Macabre Stories from Japanon Netflix, which brings several animes with oriental horror tales, and the arrival of A Quiet Place – Part 2 to the streaming service.

1. Junji Ito Maniac: Macabre Stories from Japan – Netflix
As the name suggests, Junji Ito Maniac features a set of animations based on stories by Junji Ito – considered by many to be the master of Japanese horror. It features 12 episodes based on 20 of his most famous and terrifying tales, published in his manga.

Each of the animations has its own style and is designed by different artists. This makes their styles varied, while creating a unique identity for each of the themes.
2. The Legend of Shahmaran – Netflix
The new Netflix series is based on the famous legend of Shahmaran who, in the folklore of the peoples of the Middle East, is a mythical creature, half snake, half woman, with wisdom beyond the ordinary. Her story has a number of versions, including one of them present in the famous Thousand and One Nights.

The series focuses on Sashu, a woman who travels to the city of Adana, where she grew up and saw her grandfather abandon her mother years ago. After starting his revenge plan against him, Sashu begins to have a series of dreams and visions that may be connected with the famous Legend of Shahmaran.
3. A Quiet Place – Part 2 – Netflix
The sequel to one of the most acclaimed horror films of all time has finally arrived on Netflix. The film is a direct sequel which shows what happens to the Abbott family after the events at the end of the first title.

4. The Menu – Star Plus
This week, one of the most talked-about films of the moment arrived on the Star Plus service: The menu. It brings an innovative combination of elements of the highest cuisine, with a plot beyond thought-provoking, full of suspense and twists.

The film tells the story of a couple who get the chance to visit the restaurant of one of the most famous chefs in the world. Full of eccentricity, it is located on an isolated island, where banquets are served following the strictest rules.

5. Happy New Year… Again – Prime Video
Happy New Year…again is yet another Amazon Prime Video bet on exclusive works of humor. This time, Ingrid Guimarães and Lázaro Ramos host a special that is reminiscent of popular talk showsboth for the format – with the presence and interaction of the public – and for the way in which it unfolds.
