What is “Wild Rhythm” about, the new Colombian Netflix series?

Wild rythm arrived this March 2 to Netflix and promises to match other successes of Colombian productions such as the queen of flow or woman-fragranced coffee. Made by Greeicy Rendon and Paulina Davila, the story reflects the inequality in the world of dance through the characters of two dancers who come from opposite worlds. Both will do their best to fulfill their dreams and will compete to become the best, even if they have to risk everything along the way to achieve it.

It is the story of Antonia and Karina, two dancers from diametrically opposite worlds who have in common their passion for dance. Antonia is a perfectionist and dances at the prestigious “El Royal” Academy, but now she has to reinvent her style to star in the work of her dreams. Meanwhile, Karina, who learned to dance in the streets of Bogotá, manages to survive while she dreams of showing her talent to the world, together with her group the “Pura Kaye”. When Antonia meets Karina she is seduced by her freshness and enraptured by her urban style. Knowing that Karina has everything she lacks, Antonia immerses herself in Karina’s dizzying life, while dragging her into the glamor of her own. They compete to the death to achieve their dreams, willing to give up their lives on stage,” reads the official synopsis.

In addition to Rendón and Dávila, the cast of Colombian fiction is made up of Juan Manuel Guilera, Ángela Cano, Cristina Warner, Sergio Herrera, Martina la Peligrosa, Sashua López, David Palacio, Kevin Bury and Elizabeth Torrent. The direction was in charge of the filmmaker Simón Brand (Paradise Travel and blank minds), and musical supervision was carried out under the leadership of Santiago Uribe.

There are eight episodes in total that are already available to watch on the platform streaming from March 2. Notably, Wild rythm keeps Colombian talent current in the service catalogafter enchanting viewers in Latin America in recent months with the two seasons of the queen of flow and the new version of the classic telenovela woman-fragranced coffee (with William Levy).

Greeicy returns to TV thanks to Netflix

the launch of Wild rythm marks the great return of Greeicy Rendon to the performance after about five long years. Her last appearance on television was with Revengethe Colombian remake of the American revenge which was launched in 2017. He has also acted in titles for TV in his native Colombia as When the Sun Rises, First Lady, Where’s Elisa?, Vampire Girl, The Golden Hoarse, Knockout, Las Vegas’samong others.

In August 2017, she debuted as a singer with her first single entitled “Brindemos” and, in November of that same year, she presented her collaboration with Mike Bay, who is his partner to date. In her musical career, she has had a great reception from the Latin American public and has worked alongside other famous artists such as Anitta, David Bisbal, Nacho and others.
