In July of this year, the court 43 of the circuit of Bogotá ordered to Manzana stop all sales of mobile devices with 5G due to legal disputes with a patent for this technology with the company ericsson. But Superior Court of the Judicial District Civil Chamber revoked the decision and the company will resume normal operations in the country.
The company already has a free hand to sell and distribute more than 10 devices that were on hold for more than four months, including versions of the iPhone 14, that were released in the middle of the decision.

In the product list there are not only smartphones, but also tablets that work with 5G technology, which is not yet available in the country, but is included as one of the high-end features of the devices.

This new family was launched on September 7, weeks after the court decision to restrict the sale of certain devices of Manzana. so straight in Colombia it could not be obtained and the only way was to buy it in another country and then bring it back.
After the endorsement to sell it normally, the company will first begin to distribute phones of previous versions such as the iPhone 11, 12 and 13 that has 5G, as reported by El Tiempo. So that in mid-December the arrival of the latest phone of the brand in all its versions is finally given, because at this time there are no units available due to the closure of the factory.
There is still nothing official about its price, but if the current values for the international market in dollars are taken, the iPhone 14 would be costing the following: iPhone 14 is at US$799 ($3,935,698 Colombian pesos), iPhone 14 Plus US$ 899 ($4,428,276), iPhone 14 Pro, $999 ($4,920,854) and the iPhone 14 Pro $1,099 ($5,413,432).
Why the decision on Apple was changed
There were several reasons why the determination for the sale of the company’s devices was changed. Initially, the Court indicates that the court’s decision did not take into account the common good by stopping the sale of various company devices, affecting a specific group of people.
In addition to that, the disparity of technologies in what has to do with the 5G system was not contemplated, so it cannot be presumed an “action to the infringement of the right to industrial property”.
This does not mean that the case is closed, but that while the final decision is made and the bottom of the process is reached, Manzana is allowed to sell its 5G products in Colombia.
