I got nauseous and the room started spinning,

The former Today show co-host said she knew the feeling

But Katie found some comfort in knowing that her parents had all beat cancer

Katie shared in her essay that she had two preoperative surgeries

She was able to forgo chemotherapy and began radiation on September 7th.
