The professional music career of Kim Wilde got off to a flying start. Her debut song immediately peaked at number two on the UK charts.
Wilde then embarked on the exhilarating rollercoaster of fame and success. But her mental health suffered as a result.
The pop icon opened up about that time in a recent interview with Cornwall Mind, the local mental health organisation.
She acknowledged that juggling her identities as Kim Smith, her previous name before she got married and rose to fame, and Kim Wilde was "quite tricky."
In 2015, she admitted: "When I was 30, my music career was flourishing, with platinum records under my belt and a European tour with Michael Jackson.
"From the outside, everything appeared perfect, but anxiety was a constant companion and had a negative impact on my mental health.
“One in four of us will experience issues with our mental health and gardening really can help.
