Joe E. Tata, who played Nat Bussichio, the owner of the Peach Pit diner in the 1990s teen drama "Beverly Hills, 90210," has died. He was 85.
Kelly Katherine Tata, his daughter, announced on Thursday in a GoFundMe post that her father died Wednesday night.
She previously wrote that her father had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2018.
In a social media post, "90210" star Ian Ziering praised Tata as "one of the happiest guys I've ever worked with."
He said Tata was "generous with his wisdom as he was with his kindness."
Tata appeared in television shows including "Lost in Space," "The Rockford Files," "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." and the original "Batman" series
Tata resumed his role as Nat Bussichio in the CW network spin-off series "90210," which aired from 2008 to 2013.
