Another merger is coming between the brands of the BBK group of companies. After OnePlus and Oppo officially merged, Vivo and iQOO announced that they are going one step further, with Vivo merging iQOO. The decision and the step were justified by the fact that operating costs are reduced in this way, as well as increasing their efficiency, i.e. downsizing.
It was no secret until now that Vivo and iQOO used joint research and development, a joint system and supply chain, only their sales channels and marketing were different. In contrast to, say, the Oppo – Realme – OnePlus trio, which brands claimed and partially still claim that even though they fall under the umbrella of BBK, they operate as a completely separate unit. Vivo and iQOO will now switch to unified marketing and sales, and iQOO will cease to be an independent brand, and iQOO devices will appear in Vivo’s product line, such as the Vivo X phones. According to the news, iQOO’s own stores and counters in department stores will also be closed.
