Vinland Saga: Exciting trailer reveals season 2 premiere date

The official website for season 2 of Vinland Saga has been updated with a trailer that reveals not only new information about Makoto Yukimura’s manga adaptation, but also its premiere date: January 9, 2023.

Made available online by Twin Engine, the new teaser features the opening theme, “River”. Check it out below:

The promo has also been made available by Crunchyroll and other streaming services that are expected to stream the anime. With just over 2 months to go before the release, new information about the episodes should be released soon, so keep an eye out so you don’t miss any news!

Makoto Yukimura’s anime will be adapted by studio MAPPA, from Chainsaw Man, Kaisen Jujutsu, The God of High School, Dororo and Dorohedoro. Previously, it was the responsibility of Wit Studio, also well known for the 3 seasons of Attack on Titan. However, the rights were acquired by MAPPA.

In turn, the direction is by Shuhei Yabuta, from Inuyashiki, with a story by Hiroshi Seko, from Banana Fishand character design by Takahiko Abiru, from Hunter X Hunter.

Vinland Saga began running in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen in April 2005 and inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by Wit Studio, released in July 2019. Now, Season 2 will be made by MAPPA and called Vinland Saga 2.

The new episodes premiere on January 9, 2023 in Japan. In Brazil, they will be made available by Crunchyroll and Netflix. However, the official release date in the country has not yet been confirmed.
