Magazine Sexuality & Culture conducted an investigation to see the scope of content consumption on that platform, in aspects such as sex education and discovery.
The results yielded a wide variety of information, for example, that many began to use sex toys in their couples or alone and that it helped them understand their sexual inclination or explore various options.

“Participants also reported trying new things, including toy use, sexual identity exploration, sexual and relationship practices, and gender identity exploration,” the research states.
In total, 425 people were surveyed, of which 53% identified themselves as men and 46% as women, the average age was 37 years of age and 80% identified themselves as heterosexual, while 19% did so as LGBTI or non-binary person.

The research found that 41% of those surveyed tried or adopted new practices with sex toys, while only 6.8% said that despite having seen content on the platform, they never did anything new.
Other results were that 28% began to engage in sexual exploration, 25% began experiences such as phone sex, 20% began to use cameras, and 18% began experiences with multiple partners.

Additionally, users began to generate new questions on these topics, some examples they gave were: “how to last longer during sex”, “how I discovered new sexual pleasures”, “how to have a healthy sexual life” or “how to avoid diseases of sexual transmission”.
One point they highlighted was that thanks to the use of onlyfans many users had better communication tools to establish personalities and that this helped to improve their values.
Some of the statements that respondents gave in this section were: “I have more confidence in myself”, “increase in self-esteem and ego”, “even at my age, I can still have pleasurable sexual experiences and “it has made me have a new look at myself”.

A constant that occurred thanks to the fact that the more users learned on the platform, the more positively they “perceived the effects of using OnlyFans on their sexual lives.”
What gives a very big twist to the view that one can get from this type of explicit content, something that even the researchers highlight. “I learned that it is not good to be so critical in life and in sex. People who participate in the OnlyFans platform gain new knowledge about themselves (self-exploration) and about sexuality in general (specific conceptual knowledge),” he said.
