Urbanista unveiled its Los Angeles headphones on Thursday, October 14th. The Bluetooth headset with ANC, which sells for less than 200 euros, can be charged with solar energy.
- The Urbanista Los Angeles headset will be available in Germany from October 14, 2021, at a price of 199 euros.
- It can be charged with light both indoors and outdoors
- The average battery life stated by the manufacturer is 80 hours
This is a product that I’ve been following the hype about for a few months! Urbanista, a Swedish lifestyle audio brand, has just introduced the “Los Angeles” wireless headphones with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that are self-charging thanks to solar energy.
According to the manufacturer, the Los Angeles headphones are constantly charged when exposed to light – both indoors and outdoors. In theory, this means that you can use them almost indefinitely.

Battery life of up to 80 hours
Urbanista relies on Powerfoyle technology from Exeger, another Swedish company that specializes in developing these cells that convert light energy into electricity. It’s not the first time this technology has been used in a headset. In 2019, Exeger had already worked with JBL on the Reflect Eternal, but the crowdfunding campaign never came off.
Urbanista has succeeded in bringing out a marketable version of the concept, and at a fairly moderate price of 200 euros. So when I get the chance to test this headset, we’ll see – and hear – whether the promise of endless listening pleasure is true or not.
However, the fact that you don’t have to worry about charging makes the headphones particularly attractive. In any case, Urbanista states a “battery reserve of 80 hours”.
