Twitter DM search bar has been added in Twitter for android

It’s been a long time, but Twitter finally added a DM search bar on Android to make it consistent with iOS, which has been able to search DMs by username since 2019.

Last year in August, Twitter announced that it would begin testing the DM search bar on desktop and iOS computers, so users can search for specific content via direct messages.

However, this feature has some limitations, including the last DM that is limited to someone’s latest DM. Considering what you are looking for, it may be an older message, so it is not particularly useful.

What to expect from the Twitter DM search bar

In January, Twitter noted that it was looking to improve the DM. Debugger reported in March that Twitter planned to release its updated DM experience in May. Given today’s feedback, it seems unlikely now, but still, it’s clear that this is something Twitter is developing, it’s likely to come soon.

Twitter has tried to use more advanced search features in the past, such as searching for shared media and links on specific DM threads. But the ability to search the text of messages is another level, which can make Twitter’s DM feature more functional and provide users with more motivation to trust DM as the primary method of contact.

The ability to categorize direct messages faster allows you to simplify direct message responses; For example, you can search for all users who have asked specific questions about a product based on a certain keyword or term, and then provide them with all relevant updated information at any time.

Twitter doesn’t have a specific timeline for possible DM updates yet, but we’ll inform you of progress.
