Samsung will introduce the new Exynos 2200 SoC on January 11th! The company announced the presentation of the new smartphone chip a few days ago on Twitter. You should turn it on next Tuesday, especially since the Exynos 2200 is expected to be used in the Galaxy S22. Samsung is also preparing for the next generation of mobile games with an RDNA2 architecture.
- Samsung announces the launch of the Exynos 2200 on January 11, 2022, on Twitter.
- The SoC is expected to be equipped with an AMD graphics unit.
- It is still unclear in which regions the new processors will be used.
In a Twitter post on the official Samsung account on December 30, 2021, the Korean electronics manufacturer announced the launch of the new flagship CPU for January 11, 2022. The successor to the Exynos 2100 will serve as the new heart of the Samsung Galaxy S22 range and power smartphones in some parts of the world.

Particularly exciting: The Exynos 2200 SoC was developed in cooperation with AMD, one of the leading manufacturers of computer GPUs. This could make Exynos 2200 a real graphic force for smartphones. Because Samsung relies on AMD’s latest RDNA2 graphics architecture, which is normally used in high-end consoles and gaming PCs.
In which models is the chipset used?
Samsung appears to be sticking to the successful strategy from 2021 to 2022. This means there’s an SoC launch that will put a big spotlight on the new smartphones coming a few weeks later. Exynos 2200 will most likely be used in the Galaxy S22 models. As every year, the question remains open in which regions Samsung uses its own SoCs.
Traditionally we get Samsung’s own chips in Europe, but for the US market, Samsung usually relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. The chip manufacturer introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 last year and with the Xiaomi 12 a China was also introduced, the first mobile phone that uses the power of the new processor.
We will probably get the answer to our questions on January 11th. As a gamer, I’m also absolutely curious whether Samsung, together with AMD, will offer a few exclusive advantages in the currently popular mobile games.
