After implementing a mechanism charges for accounts (profiles) extras on your streaming platform, Netflix would have decided Cancel said experiment in the five countries of the region (among them Peru and Argentina) where said mechanism was applied.

In Peru, Argentina and other select countries, Netflix began charging for “adding a home or profile” to an existing account. For these countries, account holders had to pay extra to add an additional profile away from home.

As is known, this measure was not well received by the users of the platform. In social networksmany people expressed their rejection of this measure of the big N and promised to unsubscribe from the service if the platform continued with this extra charge.

“After listening to consumer feedback, we have decided discontinue the ‘Add a Home’ features. Instead, we will focus on making it easy for people who share an account to transfer their profile and start their own membership, and for all members to easily manage their devices and create sub-accounts (“extra member”), if they want to pay for family members. or friends,” he said. Netflix it’s a statement.

What is going to be charged and what is not on Netflix

The platform will not completely abandon its idea that a greater number of users pay for the streaming service. The new options would be transfer a profile or through the password forwarding.

And it is that to understand all this mess, Netflix announced an update in July with which you could add a extra house for an additional cost. This function applied in the first instance to Argentina, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic, in addition to Chile, Costa Rica and Peru.

The measure was implemented because the company believed that sharing the same account among multiple households hurts Netflix’s long-term potential to invest in and improve the service. Well this will no longer be so.

So how to transfer a profile to a new account on Netflix?

After years of encouraging passing the password to family and friends, the numbers no longer add up, so a few months ago Netflix announced that will not allow sharing password with other people They don’t live in the same house.

Users who do this are left with two options: keep the account if they pay an associated account feeeither create your own account. The problem with the latter is that, until now, if the user changed their account, they lost the profile with the viewing history, the list of favorites they want to see, how far a series has stayed, etc.

To pave the way for this ban of share passwords, Netflix has planned a strategy: the power option transfer a profile, so that the lists and series markers are not lost. These are the steps to follow:

1. With a Web navigator, log in in the account that has the profile with which you want to start a new account.

2. Visit the Account page. Or, this option can be found in the profile selection dropdown menu on the home page.

3. Select the profile with which you want to create a new account in the section Profiles and parental controls.

4. Choose the option To transfer in the section transfer profile. Note: A copy of the profile will remain in the original account.

5. Enter the address of email and the password that you want to use for the new account.

6. follow the notices that appear on the screen to complete account setup.

7. Once the profile transfer is complete, the new account will be ready to use.
