However, the spreadsheet also offers a peculiar selection within the varied list of templates: organize a family tree of the users. In this way, people will be able to learn more about the history of their family, discover distant relatives and the ties that unite them.

Within the program Office people can find up to three tree models that have different characteristics and functions which users can access just by making a click.

Detailed family tree

is the template most complete of the three it has Excel to select after searching online. Not only does it offer the organization of the users’ ancestors, but it also offers a tab specifically dedicated to each level of relationship between people.

Within the details, you can include the full names, the year of birththe age what do they have, the relationship they have, the date and place of their death. In addition, users have the option to enter the Photos of each person although these do not appear in the tab where the tree updated.

The tree is generated automatically after completing the data in each of the records specific to the members. Special buttons are located in each work area that make it easier for users to navigate between each of the tabs.

This second model is more appropriate for school works of children and young people because, unlike the template passed, it only has one work area and the information is presented in a simple way.

Each member of the tree has a predetermined space to locate a Photographyin addition to a Name and a year of birth. At this time there is no detail of a possible date of death.

In this template there are many limitations for the reason of keeping the registration system simple: you cannot add family members past the third generation and the maximum number of children you can have per record is two due to limited space.

Although its appearance is simple, the way it operates is more complex than the previous example. In this templateusers will need to fill in a series of boxes (again with the third generation as a limit) in which spouses can be entered for each son or daughter.

This function not only allows to identify the principal line of the family, but also enables users to register more than two children per couple if applicable.

Once the table is completed, click on the button Generate family tree located in the upper right corner of the table. The result will be registered in the tab of Family tree and, in case of needing modifications, they can be made from the original boxes.
