Scientists at Ritsumeikan University, in Kyoto, Japan, developed microfingers robotic that allow for better interaction between humans and insects. Professor Konishi, who is leading the project, said: “A tactile microfinger is achieved using a flexible liquid metal strain sensor. A soft pneumatic actuator acts like an artificial muscle, allowing the sensor to be controlled and moved like a finger.”

“With a robotic glove, a human user can directly control the microfingers. This type of system allows for safe interaction with insects and other microscopic objects,” he adds.
