The actor spoke with Infobae about this new Netflix production in which he plays a time traveler with a broken life and wounds from the past that he needs to heal.
Today it opens in Netflix, the adam projecta film starring Ryan Reynolds in which time travel, science fiction and the future are always giving something to talk about. However, along with that, viewers will find a strong family story that will make them reflect on their relationship with parents, childhood, memories, and how to deal with grief and heal wounds.
The fiction begins with a child Adam (Walker Scobell), who is going through one of his worst moments, despite his young age: his father died some time ago in a traffic accident (Mark Ruffalo), she is a victim of bullying at school, her relationship with her mother (Jennifer Garner) is not the best and feels lonely and out of place. However, his life takes a radical turn when one night, at his house, a man appears who claims to come from the future and who, moreover, is himself, but much older.
This adult Adam, played by Reynolds, does not have the main objective of running into his little version, and in reality, what he is looking for is to reunite with his wife (Zoe Saldana) and save her from a tragic end. And although at first she can’t stand being with this younger Adam, the truth is that finally this little boy will become a great ally to fulfill his mission.
Precisely, this journey through time helps the older Adam to reflect on his family relationships and the wounds he left open for fear of seeing them face to face and healing them. It is then that we again find two parallels: little Adam cannot get over the absence of his father and blames his mother for not crying or missing him; while the adult Adam understands that his father had to go and also understands that his mother was the one who missed him the most, but she had to be strong for her son. So viewers will find a futuristic film, but also full of family nostalgia.
