One of the key horror film directors of recent years, James Wan, will participate in the production of one of the King of Terror’s works, the writer Stephen King. This is the short story Monkey published in 1980, as reported by Deadline, in a news that has been released in the Cannes Market that the industry is celebrating these days in the town of the French Riviera.
Promoting the project from there, it has also been announced that Theo Jamesfrom the saga Divergent and also forming part of the cast of the second season of The White Lotuswill be its protagonist, or at least for what concerns the adult part because it is a story in which children, and the disturbing monkey of the title, they have a lot to do with it.

“Stephen King is the godfather of the horror genre”James Wan has stated. “He’s had a huge influence on me since childhood and throughout my career, and it’s always been a dream to help bring one of his stories to life. ‘The Monkey’ is one of my favorites, simple, iconic and incredibly salable concept”.
Wan will participate as a producer through his company, Atomic Monster, and the adaptation of the script, and also presumably taking over the directing reinswill be in charge of the New Yorker Osgood Perkins (who also signs under the name Oz Perkins).
