Trailer for “The Worst Tenant in the World”, which premiered a few days ago. (Netflix)
A few days ago it was added to the Netflix catalog The worst tenant in the worldwhich has as its original title Worst Roommate Ever. From that moment on, it has become one of the most viewed productions on the platform, adding millions of views every week. But what is the reason for the success of this documentary series?
The answer seems to be quite simple: it tells real stories of people who decided to rent their homes and share their space with people they didn’t know, but who seemed to lead normal lives. However, in the worst way they realized that they were living with the enemy.
According to the official synopsis of the production, it is “a new documentary series from Blumhouse Television that narrates harrowing stories of seemingly harmless tenants who become real nightmares for their unsuspecting victims once their malevolent and sometimes violent intentions come to light. These disturbing true stories chronicle the masked menace that may be lurking down the hall.”
Although there are five episodes, only four stories of people who were in danger due to their tenants are told. To give you an idea, these are the titles of the different chapters: call me grandma, Beware of the quiet, the marathon runner and Looking for a roommatewhich is divided into two parts.
Murder, fraud, harassment and torture: these are just a few chilling words experienced firsthand by innocent people who decided to share their homes with KC Joy, Dorothea Puente, Youssef Khater and Jamison Bachman.
