The Dimensity 700 brings the 5G data connection to TCL’s cheapest devices with new generation network support, and the third model tries to compensate for the entry-level Helio G37-based hardware and the 4 GB of RAM. Although the panel of the TCL 40 XL has grown to 6.75 inches, the resolution remains HD+, and the image refresh rate is only 60 Hz, but it received the TCL 40 X 5G camera set, which means a 50-megapixel main camera in addition to two 2-megapixel secondary sensors.

The TCL 40 X 5G, TCL 40 XE 5G and TCL 40 XL also received a 5000 mAh battery, but there was no question of charging capacity, nor was there a jack connector, but we hope that they will keep the good habit of the 30 XE 5G and 30 XL and in addition to the 18-watt fast charging, the 3.5 mm port was not left behind either.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the $170 40 XE 5G, which at this price point offers a 6.56-inch HD+ panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a 7-nanometer Dimensity 700 set and expandable internal storage, because in the name of saving, only one 4/64 GB memory package included in the price. In exchange for the favorable price, the 50-megapixel main camera has to be given up and made do with a 13-megapixel unit, but the two auxiliary sensors and the 8-megapixel selfie camera that also works in the XL remain.

All three devices have a fingerprint reader (on the side), and the 40 X 5G essentially only differs from the 40 XE 5G in the camera set, for which you have to pay $30 more, but it only offers 4/64 GB of memory. The TCL 40 X 5G can therefore be bought for 200 dollars, and the 40 XL for 150 dollars, if you buy a phone in the United States, because these models of the 40 series are not sold here for the time being.
