Available in China from March 29 a OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition a special edition of the OnePlus 11 named after it. The phone’s hardware is the same as all other OnePlus 11s, but its appearance is different, instead of glass, the back panel is made of a special 3D microcrystalline rock material, which is inspired by Jupiter in its appearance. The exact composition of the material was not disclosed by OnePlus, but it is possible to guess, so let’s do it quickly: flints are materials with a microcrystalline structure, two typical representatives of which are flint and radiolarite (aka lydite). OnePlus is a On Weibo in its shared promotional materials, it claims that the material found on Jupiter is contained on the back cover of the special edition, and that Jupiter’s atmosphere contains some silicon, which as silicon dioxide may form radiolarite and onyx, which may be similar in color and pattern to the way Voyager 1 saw Jupiter from space.

According to the information provided by OnePlus, the pattern on the back of each phone will be unique, and the device will arrive in unique packaging. The brand worked for a year on the creation of the back cover, they also created an in-house developed production line due to the special material of the mobile phone. The special edition will most likely be Chinese-exclusive, given that OnePlus and Oppo are rumored to be withdrawing from European markets.
