The Penguin: Cristin Milioti Joins the Cast of The Batman Spinoff

The actress Cristin Milioti (Made for Love and palm springs) joined the cast of The Penguinminiseries derived from the movie The Batmanlaunched in March of this year.

In the series, which will be released directly on HBO Max, the actress will play Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) and direct rival of the villain played by Colin Farrell. In the plot, she must fight for control of Gotham.

The series should show the rise of Penguin, seen in The Batman as one of Falcone’s gangsters in Gotham’s criminal underworld.

The Penguin will have a script signed by Lauren LeFranc (Agents of SHIELD), who also takes over as showrunner. Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, is one of the executive producers. The full cast of the series has yet to be revealed and there is no premiere date set at this time.

with the success of The Batman, Warner Bros. has already confirmed new productions derived from the film.

In addition to the classic villain series, two other miniseries will also be released: Gotham Central, focused on the police officers who help Batman fight crime in Gotham and, finally, a production that should accompany Arkham Asylum, an institution known for housing some of Batman’s arch enemies, such as the Joker.
