Netflix released the first trailer for The Pale Blue Eye, a film starring Christian Bale about the story of Edgar Allan Poe. The attraction directed by Scott Cooper (crazy heart) is based on the book of the same name written by Louis Bayard, and follows a detective (played by the actor) in charge of solving a mysterious murder.
The video brings all the Gothic atmosphere present in the works of the famous writer, amid dialogues that seem to be extracted directly from poems — in addition, of course, to a glimpse of a crow. Watch!
“In 1830, a detective is hired to investigate, very discreetly, the terrible murder of one of the members of the Military Academy at West Point. However, the institution’s code of silence proves to be an unavoidable obstacle to the investigation, causing him to ask for the help of one of the academy’s students: a young man who would go down in history as Edgar Allan Poe.
In addition to Bale, the feature features Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley from Harry Potter) as Edgar Allan Poe. In addition, the cast will consist of Gillian Anderson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lucy Boynton, Toby Jones, Timothy Spall, Simon McBurney and Robert Duvall.
The adaptation of The Pale Blue Eye will come to streaming on January 6, 2023.
