The next series and movie releases on Disney+ in May 2023

May the 4th be with you! In the month of Star Wars it was impossible not to have new releases about the most beloved intergalactic saga by science fiction fans. House of great series like Obi Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian, Disney+ It has more than one surprise in store for both veteran Jedi and the youngest Padawans.

After May 4, the premieres will not stop reaching streaming. This month our screens are filled with some of the biggest faces on today’s television and music scene with celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Ed Sheeran either Jack Harlow starring in the new documentaries, series and movies of the next 31 days.

They are joined by the premieres of other series and films that will take us to the moon, they will show us the advantages and problems of meeting a mythological god and they will show us that, no matter how much life has not followed the plan you had in mind, It’s never too late to get back on track. Next, we tell you what are the next releases of Disney + series and movies for the month of May.

Series

Only 2 of the 7 new series that Disney+ premieres this month are stories that we already know. The first is the third season of The Kardashiansthe second, season 2 of Single Drunk Female, comedy about a young woman who fights alcoholism at her mother’s house. The rest range from the most fantastic fiction to a documentary about fame, going through the adaptation in miniseries format of one of the most tragic stories of the Second World War.

From the hand of National Geographic comes A Little Light: Protecting Anne Frankminiseries focused on the important figure of Miep Giesthe secretary who helped hide the Frank family and who found and kept Ana’s diary. She is joined by Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It Alla documentary divided into 4 parts that delves into the private life of the British singer during one of the most difficult times of his life.

Among the fiction titles, we find the adaptation of the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang, chinese american seriesabout a teenager who befriends the son of a mythological god; Not Dead Yet, a comedy about a single girl who decides to restart her life and pick up the career she left off 10 years ago; and a new series of The Muppets for the little ones.

Films

In 1992, a young Woody Harrelson starred with Wesley Snipes the movie The whites do not know how to put it about two friends, one white and one black, who played basketball while fighting among themselves and against those who wanted to measure themselves with their skills for the sport.

In 2023, and under the original title in English, White Men Can’t Jumpare the rapper Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls who play a former star who saw his life cut short by various injuries and a player who squandered his own future in the sport, respectively.

Joining this updated celebration of Los Angeles streetball culture is the premiere of Cratera science fiction drama directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez (for thirteen reasons) about a boy who, after growing up on a lunar mining colony, decides to go explore a legendary crater before being relocated to another planet.

Star Wars month

Since someone realized that the date of the May 4th in English “May the 4th” sounded the same as the first part of the famous phrase from Star Wars “May the force be with you”, May has become the month of the most famous intergalactic saga in the history of cinema.

Disney+ celebrates the event with two premieres for both adults and children to enjoy Star Wars day. For the former, the platform returns with volume 2 of the Emmy-nominated series Star Wars: Visions with 9 new shorts from 9 different animation studios. For the seconds, we find the series Star Wars: The Adventures of the Young Jedi.

In addition, all the films in the saga and original series such as Andor, Obi Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian.
