According to the latest market analysis by Canalys, the mobile market can record the biggest decline in the last ten years in the last quarter of last year. In Q4 2022, manufacturers delivered 17% fewer mobile phones than in the same period last year, and in an annual comparison, the segment performed 11% worse in 2022, which means fewer than 1.2 billion devices were delivered.
Apple, on the other hand, pulled in at the end of the year, and it got its results: in the fourth quarter, it took the world’s leading position with a 25% market share, which is also the largest share of all time in the manufacturer’s history. Looking at the whole year, however, Samsung still dominates with 22%, Apple is in second place with a 19% share, and Xiaomi is still on the third step of the podium with 13%. The usual hat-trick is followed by Oppo and Vivo, but they, along with Xiaomi, were unable to show growth last year. Xiaomi and fifth-ranked Vivo fell by 1-1% each, while Oppo’s market share decreased from 11 to 9% compared to 2021.
