UCI Day: learn more about the films selected in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the cinema chain

Originally released in 2002, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is part of Peter Jackson’s film trilogy based on the work of writer JRR Tolkien. Set in the Third Age of Middle-earth, the production follows the adventure of Frodo Baggins (played by Elijah Wood) with Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin), who travel alone towards Mordor to destroy the One Ring.

On the way, they meet Gollum (Andy Serkis), a strange creature who was once the bearer of this artifact. In parallel to this plot, there is also the rest of the Entourage of the Ring, formed by Gandalf (Ian McKellen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), who unite once again to fight Sauron’s orcs in a Rohan stronghold.

Among the re-releases, there are also Twilight, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. One of the great teen phenomena of the last few decades, the romantic narrative is focused on Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who, upon deciding to move back in with her father in Forks, meets the mysterious Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). Gradually, she discovers that he may be more dangerous than he seems.

Finally, there are also Top Gun: Indomitable Aces, starring Tom Cruise. Willing to be the best pilot at his naval school, Maverick is shown to be quite arrogant and immature. And while he has big ambitions, he also wants to win the heart of Charlotte (Kelly McGillis), his instructor.

Looking forward to UCI Day?
