HBO Max’s official website revealed – accidentally, it seems – in the early hours of Tuesday (1) the series premiere date The Last of Us. O live action will arrive on HBO streaming on January 15th.

The information was found by users within the platform itself, but HBO has not yet officially commented.

The series takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization. “Joel, one of the survivors, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as both must cross the US and depend on each other to survive,” reads the series’ official synopsis.
