At the same time, it’s not as if the release of yet another reference is suddenly going to make the graphics cards no longer available.
Since the time we have been telling you about this GeForce RTX 3080 with 12 GB of video memory, it seems that NVIDIA and its partners are finally on the right track.
More memory, larger interface bus
WCCFTech tells us that on January 11 at 3 p.m. French time, NVIDIA will formalize the GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB, a (slight) upgrade to the pioneer card in the Ampere range.
Announced several months ago, this refresh Strictly speaking, therefore, should not be a “SUPER” version as NVIDIA has been able to come out of in the past, but notable differences would still be on the menu to begin with, therefore, with this 12 GB video memory with a 384 interface. -bit against 10 GB / 320-bit on the RTX 3080.
Logically, the memory bandwidth has improved significantly for this 12 GB RTX 3080 and we are still talking about 912 GB / s against just 760 GB / s for the pioneer model.
A slightly revamped GPU
There also seems to be a question of modifying the GPU of the graphics card and instead of the GA102-200, we would find a GA102-220. The latter would have 8,960 CUDA cores, 70 RT cores and 280 Tensor cores. The RTX 3080 had to be satisfied with 8,704, 68 and 272 respectively.
No information regarding the GPU frequency has yet filtered out, but it seems that this RTX 3080 12 GB is therefore a little more muscular than the original model and not only in terms of video memory. It should also be noted that the TDP would be 350 Watts on this version while it was limited to 320 W on the RTX 3080 10 GB.
Finally, WCCFTech specifies that no pricing information has been mentioned for the moment. However, it seems that this January 11 does not only mark the officialization of the card, but also its launch.
