One of the novelties in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max is the Qualcomm Snapdragon X65, a 5g modem that promises higher speed than the predecessor X60 found in the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.
According to a test conducted by Speedsmart, the 5g modem switch has led to an increase in download speeds from 173.81 to 255.91 megabits per second on T-Mobile’s network, a 38 percent increase.
As for Verizon’s network, it is an increase from 126.33 to 175.56 megabits per second, which corresponds to an increase of 32 percent. How it looks on this side of the Atlantic remains to be tested.
In addition to higher speed, the X65 offers improved latency and lower power consumption compared to the X60.
As for next year’s iPhone models, Apple is believed to use proprietary 5g modems.
