Telegram prepares stickers and reactions with a premium version

Telegram is working on new platform monetization tools, by implementing a series of reactions and stickers exclusive. This content would be available to users of the paid version of the platform for iOS.

As warned by the Telegram Beta community, in the latest beta version 8.7.2 of the application for Apple’s operating system, users who want to use certain elements such as those mentioned above will have to register for a premium or paid service.

Apparently the app will display the options Unlock Premium Stickers Y Unlock Additional Reactions, to access certain stickers or reactions. This indicates that a subscription should be accessed in order to use such special content.

It should be remembered that Telegram announced at the end of 2020 that would start monetizing its service in 2021, after the increase in active users of the platform and to face the maintenance challenges posed by the traffic they generate.

Back then, its founder, Pavel Durov, insisted that the app would start earning revenue in a non-intrusive way. For that, new features and exclusive functions would be used.

A year later, in October 2021, it launched its own advertising platform to display sponsored messages on public channels with more than a thousand subscribers..

At the moment, more details about the platform’s new payment plan are unknown. It is also not known what the availability date, value or the rest of the characteristics that it will offer will be; but everything indicates that progress continues in this project.

Twitter Blue

There are other platforms like Twitter that have already moved towards a premium subscription system for an additional measure of fundraising. This is Twitter Blue and its stipulated monthly value, for the moment, is USD 2.99 per month.

This version offers the possibility of editing tweets, although it must be taken into account that it is available on a trial basis and only for some profiles.. It is one of the most anticipated features by users and some believe that it could eventually reach all users.

The fact that Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, has spoken out in favor of this tool and has even launched a survey to see the opinion of his followers on the subject indicates that its application could soon be extended.

On the other hand, Twitter Blue has six different themes to choose from (blue, yellow, red, purple, orange, and green). The selected color is applied to the links, the post button, and the rest of the accent color elements.

In addition, users could access functions such as Scroll, a platform acquired a few months ago by Twitter that allows users to read and organize content such as news without advertising or other distractions through agreements with publishers.

other changes

One of Musk’s latest posts suggests implementing end-to-end encryption (also known as E2EE) to protect the privacy of direct messages on the platform. This tool could be available for all users, not only Blue version.

In this way, the new encryption system will guarantee that the messages are exclusively associated with the two parties involved in this conversation, leaving the social network itself completely without access to any other information or private content.

Ciphertext can only be decrypted when the sender and receiver have the correct cryptographic keys to decrypt the original message. This encryption has the objective of maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data.
