“The case between Clark and Lana went on too long. Something else had to happen there. I think it ended up getting a little repetitive”, said Gough, who continued: “my youngest daughter now, after seeing Wandinha, is returning to watch Smallville and it’s in Season 2. She said, ‘What’s up with these two’?’ I said, ‘It was a different time.’ So I think there are things that, if we went back, we would probably do it in a more adventurous way. […]”, he concluded.
Concurring, Millar revealed, “We were cautious and very conscious that we wanted 5 seasons, and we ended up getting 10 seasons, but we were like, ‘OK, if we break them up [Lana e Clark], what are we going to do?'” He added, “Again, as a parent of girls, I think female characters would be different today. I think Lana was underused. She could be a much stronger character, and she’s always been put in positions of weakness.”
