Site estimates Avatar 2 could generate up to $2.5 billion; understand

The box office of Avatar: The Path of Water is without brake and can generate astronomical values. According to projections made by the Screen Rant website, the new production of James Cameron can surpass the barrier of US$ 2.5 billion globallywhich would amount to around R$ 13 billion in direct conversion.

According to the entertainment portal, it is difficult to determine how profitable the film’s box office will be until the end of its exhibition in the cinema, but it is already possible to estimate the excellent performance based on standards previously seen in the industry. See the full review:

“As a newcomer to the top 10 at the box office, its opening weekend [de Avatar: O Caminho da Água] at $134 million is the third lowest on the list, ahead of Titanic ($28.6 million) and the original Avatar ($77 million) — which are also directed by Cameron. Before Avatar: The Way of Water exploded, Fast & Furious 7, the average non-Cameron-directed film in the top 10, made 35% of its total domestic production in its opening weekend, meaning the average multiplier is 2.91.”

Screen Rant further deepens its diagnosis by comparing the film to other productions that are not part of James Cameron’s lucrative portfolio:

“If Avatar: The Way of Water had a multiplier of 2.91, it would earn $390 million domestically. With its domestic shipping accounting for 30% of its global shipping, that means a multiplier of 2.91 would put it in US $1.3 billion, a number that has since passed. In fact, the best multiplier for a non-Cameron film in the top 10 is Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ 3.78. multiplier of 3.78, it would gross $506 million domestically and $1.7 billion globally, which are also numbers that have since passed”.

The site concludes by saying that the high multiplier number does not mean that the sequel to the 2009 film will reach the peak of the top 10 worldwide, but it certainly tends to surpass other productions that are part of the select list of most profitable films in history.
