Spoilers for Shazam: Wrath of Gods from this point in the text:

first scene

The first post-credits scene of Wrath of Gods begins shortly after the animated credits end, showing John Economos (Steve Agee) and Agent Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) walking through a forest.

John complains that his feet are hurting, and Harcourt mocks the fact that his partner was not prepared for this mission, making it clear that the duo needed to find someone very powerful, after being sent by Amanda Waller.

Waller (Viola Davis) does not appear on the scene, but will also be part of this new stage at DCSource: HBO Max/disclosure

The scene cuts to Shazam playing hitting bottles with lightning, until he is stopped by the agents. Harcourt asks if the hero would like to be part of the Justice Societyand promptly the character replies yes.

Afterwards, Shazam is confused and asks if the Justice Society and the Justice League are the same thing. Economos and Harcourt say no, and when the superhero starts cracking jokes, the two leave, saying they’ll be in touch. Shazam ends by commenting that the Society should have a different name, such as Society of Authority, or even Society of Avengers.

Even though it’s a joke, Society of the Authority is indicative of the future film of The Authority, recently announced by James Gunn. By the way, Harcout and John were very important characters in the Peacemaker series, making it clear that Gunn is already pulling the strings within DC. Furthermore, the scene confirms that Zachary Levi, and consequently Shazam, remain in the studio’s plans.

second scene

The second scene only starts after the end credits, showing Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong), still trapped in his cell, but with a different look. Suddenly, a voice in the background starts talking. Surprised, Silvana turns around and the camera again reveals Senhor Brain, a caterpillar-shaped villain measuring a few centimeters.

w Warner/disclosure

Silvana argues, saying that two years have passed since the two last spoke, but the caterpillar replies that needed time to think of a plan to defeat Shazam. In addition, the little villain jokes that it is difficult to gather information with his tiny body, since he has to drag himself everywhere and that takes a long time.

Curious, Sivana asks what the big plan is to escape and defeat Shazam, but Doctor Brain says it’s not the right time, and would come back later, crawling back into the hole he came from, and leaving Sivana furious.

The scene is a big joke with the last film’s post-credits, which also showed Sivana and Brain talking, but ended up being forgotten within DC. Although it seems harmless, Mister Brain has mind control abilities, and has already become one of the main villains in comics. If Shazam wins a third film, it is likely that Gunn and director David F. Sandberg will finally use the antagonist.
