Why is Eric’s actor leaving Sex Education?

In this sense, it is worth remembering that, still in 2022, Gatwa was announced as the 15th Doctor Who and will be the protagonist of the famous BBC work. Thus, it would make sense for the actor to leave the Netflix series to focus on the production in which he will be the big star.

However, despite the artist’s tip, Netflix has not officially confirmed his departure from the cast of Sex Education and, for now, his participation in the 4th season is guaranteed. It was unclear, however, how many episodes he will appear in.

In Sex Education, Eric Kwabena Effiong is one of the main characters of the plot and one of the best friends of Otis (Asa Butterfield), who is the protagonist. He is a young gay man who comes from a religious Nigerian family and a bit difficult to get along with.

  • Sex Education: Tanya Reynolds leaves the cast of the series

In addition to Gatwa and Butterfield, they complete the main cast of Sex Education Gillian Anderson, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Aimee Lou Wood,
Alistair Petrie, Tanya Reynolds, Patricia Allison, Mikael Persbrandt, among others.

The 4th season of the Netflix series is still in the recording process, which should end only this February. That is, we will have to wait a considerable time until the production is officially launched on the platform. For now, the streaming giant has not given a release date for the new year of the series. However, it is likely that it will arrive in 2023, in the second half.
