DC promises to make a big presence in movie theaters this year, as the company has some productions confirmed to debut in the coming months. In addition to expectations regarding the plots, fans also want to know if the films will undergo significant changes with the overhaul of the Cinematographic Universe, a decision taken by the company in recent years and which may already affect new releases.
In light of this, for you to remember the feature films to come and already note the premiere date on your agenda, we have brought you a list showing all the DC films confirmed for 2023. Check the list below in order of release!
1. Shazam: Rage of the Gods (March 17, 2023)

Set for release on March 17, Shazam: Wrath of Gods will be the first DC film to open in 2023. Following Shazam! (2019), viewers will continue to follow the adventures of Billy Batson, a teenager who transforms into an adult superhero whenever he says the magic word “SHAZAM”.
The film is directed by David F. Sandberg and stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou and Helen Mirren.
2. The Flash (June 16, 2023)

The Flash hits theaters in the middle of the year and has already generated great anxiety among fans to see Ezra Miller playing the famous superhero. Directed by Andy Muschietti, the feature will explore a curious encounter between Flash and Batman, who will bump into each other in parallel dimensions.

In addition to Miller, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú and Ron Livingston are also confirmed in the cast.
3. Blue Beetle (August 18, 2023)

Scheduled for release on August 18, Blue Beetle is yet another DC film full of secrets. Directed by Angel Manuel Soto and based on the comic book of the same name, the plot will address the life of Jaime Reyes, a teenager who gains superpowers after a scarab gets stuck in his spine.
In its cast, names such as Xolo Maridueña, star of Cobra Kai, and Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine. The production also includes Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Trujillo, Harvey Guillén and Susan Sarandon.
4. Aquaman: Kingdom Lost (December 25, 2023)

Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom will be released in the middle of Christmas and should make fans around the world set aside a period of the festive season to check out the release. Based on DC Comics’ Aquaman and directed by James Wan, the film’s synopsis points out that the character will make an unlikely alliance to protect Atlantis and the rest of the world from great devastation.

So far, little information about the film has been released, but we already know that names like Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Nicole Kidman will be present in the film.
DC’s future
It’s important to note that changes can happen to DC’s release schedule. Thus, feature films can be postponed or even canceled, something that happened with a Batgirl movie.
Recently, DC also announced its new cinematic universe, which will practically restart history from Flash. With that in mind, the future of characters like Blue Beetle is still uncertain in the new phase.
