the dark side of Playboy and its founder, Hugh Hefnerwas revealed in the docuseries Secrets of Playboywhich was issued by the signal of A&E. Now, it was revealed that the production will have two additional episodes that they will put on the table again the hell that was lived inside the mansion of the bunnies. Once again, it will feature testimonies from women who had never before dared to remember their past and detail their experiences to the world.

The documentary series focuses on the empire that Hefner created and how abuses and excesses that had never come to light before were hidden behind it. This is how many of the ex-bunnies accuse the businessman of supporting an industry characterized by sexual abuse, drug use, coercion and manipulation that lasted for decades until his death in 2017.

“It’s not a simple story,” said Alexandra Dean, the director, in an interview with Variety. “Every shade of gray happened in the mansion and it happened over a period of 40 years,” he added about this project that analyzes what happened inside this property from a gender perspective at the height of the #MeToo movement.

As reported by the American press, Secrets of Playboy has become the most viewed A&E in the last five years, so it’s no surprise that audiences are hoping for more after all. The new two chapters will be one hour each and will mark the return of the title for next March 28 in the US, although they will not maintain the documentary style that the last 10 episodes of the season had. This time, Lisa Guerreroformer model of Playboy and investigative journalist, will present the interviews and more information about the case.

In this way, the first to launch will focus on The Girls Next Doorthe reality show six-season show about the reign of Hugh Hefner which originally aired on AND! in the 2000s. It also included the participation of the youngest “girlfriends” who lived in the house of Hugh Hefner. What really happened behind the scenes? Karissa and Kristina Shannon, twin sisters and former partners of the magazine publisher, will come forward to open up about what they experienced in those days of their youth.

Both will tell the experiences in the environment of the leader of Playboy and more hidden details about the reality show that exposed a lifestyle – not necessarily true – of these women and introduced a large number of girls who were part of the new generation of bunnies in this century.

The second special chapter will arrive on April 4, tackling the conversations around the ex-models who integrated this world, girlfriends and Hefner employees such as Sondra Theodore, Susie Krabacher, Lisa Loving Barrett and Audrey Ann Huskey. Each of these women will face their own fears to confess the truth about the abuse they experienced and the traumas that left them as a result for the rest of their lives. To mediate the tense communication, Dr. Kate Balestrieri was included among the participants in this televised talk.

The two episodes of Secrets of Playboy can be seen from A&E.
