Samsung’s foldable phones may be launched at more than one event
Samsung may introduce its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones at a separate event for North American audiences. This new Unpacked should take place on August 11th, simultaneously in the United States and Canada, while the conference for South Korea is already scheduled for “the end of July”.
The exact reason for holding another event in August is still unknown, but in this case the brand would be following the traditional schedule for the launch of its new foldables. For comparison, the fourth generation of foldables arrived in August 2022, while the third arrived in August 2021.
The advance of the presentation in Korea for the month of July has already been confirmed by the brand, through a press release. The indication of Seoul — the South Korean capital — as the venue for the event reinforces the possibility of holding more conferences, as Samsung usually makes its biggest launches in cities in the United States or Europe.
Previous rumors indicate that the company would have advanced the display of foldables to leverage its sales figures in the last quarter of the year. In this sense, South Korea is a very strategic market, as the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has already registered a higher popularity than the iPhone there.
Even though it has confirmed the realization of the “first Unpacked” for the month of July, Samsung has not yet confirmed a specific date for the event. Previous news points out that it could happen on July 27, a Thursday.
In addition to the foldable cell phones, the company is expected to introduce several additional products, which include the Galaxy Watch 6 watches, the Galaxy Buds 3 headphones, and the Galaxy Tab S9 line of tablets.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 should be the model with the most changes for this year’s generation, mainly due to a new external screen with wider dimensions. The panel could be 3.4 inches, slightly smaller than the display seen on the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5, on the other hand, may have more discreet changes, which include the arrival of a new hinge mechanism. Construction that folds the display into a teardrop shape can reduce creasing in the center of the display, among other structural advantages.
