The eSIM technology came with the objective of bringing more convenience to consumers by eliminating the need for a physical SIM Card. However, many cell phones in the US are still not supported even though they have compatible hardware.
the collapsible Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 were two examples. However, the Samsung released the functionality in the latest update to the operating system made available for the devices, according to the XDA Developers website.
Updated firmware builds are identified as F926USQU1DVEE for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and F711USQU2DVEE for the Z Flip 3. The new versions are slowly being released to the owners in the country.
Unlocked variants are also getting eSIM functionality, but these are identified by software compilation F926U1UEU1DVEE for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and F711U1UEU2DVEE for the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
It’s worth noting that eSIM support means these devices are now also dual-SIM compatible, just like their global equivalents. The update also added several camera features present in the Galaxy S22 lineup.
Last but not least, the new software build for the foldables also comes with the Android security patch for the month of June 2022.
