Samsung may postpone One UI 5.0 beta based on Android 13 in some countries

A few weeks ago, Samsung released the first beta version of the One UI 5.0 interface based on Android 13 for the Galaxy S22 line in South Korea, Germany and the United States.

However, it has not arrived in countries like China and India, where the South Korean usually releases its test updates. According to information from the Samsung Members Community, it should be made available around August 25thbut there are no indications that this will happen within the stipulated time.

Samsung would be making cosmetic changes to One UI 5.0 in the next beta update. According to a tweet from insider Ice (@UniverseIce), the South Korean tinkered with the design of items like Phone, Camera, Contacts and Messages, adopting different color schemes and rounder elements.

Soon, One UI 5.0 should also be available in the testing phase for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20 series and the “Z” folding phones, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3.

It should bring few visual changes and to focus on OS improvements. These include a new security panel to view the device’s protection status. This area will show when there are any vulnerabilities that can be fixed or recommendations to preserve user information.

According to an official Samsung publication, users will be able to choose from 16 new background-based color schemes and 12 options for their home screens, icons and quick settings panels.

In future releases, in addition to minor changes to the user interface design, new functionality should be implemented. The final version of One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 is expected to arrive for high-end Galaxy devices in late October 2022.
