After rumors pointed out the possibility of Samsung presenting the Galaxy S23 FE with the Exynos 2200 processor, new performance tests show that this is indeed the platform chosen by the brand – or, at least, that it will be among the options depending on the market. The content even gives more details of the device’s performance, such as its RAM and operating system.
The component was introduced by Samsung in early 2022, and already appears in units sold in Europe of the Galaxy S22 series. It still has the Samsung Xclipse 920 GPU, designed in conjunction with AMD, which is also featured on the recent page of the Geekbench Browser portal, responsible for the benchmark tests.
The Exynos 2200 is built on a 4-nanometer architecture, and operates at frequencies of up to 2.80 GHz on its Cortex-X2 main core. It still has 3x Cortex-A710 at 2.52 GHz, and another 4x Cortex-A510 at 1.82 GHz for energy efficiency.
Tests carried out last year showed that the platform delivered results below expectations, both in performance and energy efficiency. However, Ray Tracing tests revealed that it is capable of surpassing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in this specific aspect, showing that AMD’s experience really made the difference in the chipset’s graphics processing.
The benchmark test still confirms that the Galaxy S23 FE will have at least one version with 8 GB of RAM, but other variants may also be available. Its operating system will be Android 13, probably with Samsung’s typical One UI 5 interface.
